Check Out J.R. Ewing's "Texas Timex"
« on: June 27, 2012, 01:43:50 AM »
While you guys have been drooling over the latest Invicta and Renato watches on the shopping channels,  :004: cable television's TNT has revived the 80's television show - "Dallas"  It features original cast members Patrick Duffy, Larry Hagman, and Linda Grey.  But, more importantly for watch watchers, it features Larry Hagman's "Texas Timex."  It's a Rolex with a highly customized monogrammed "J.R." bracelet.  The camera lingers on the watch in the first episode and Hagman was showing it off on Jimmy Fallon's show this evening.

Don't think I ever saw an episode of Dallas. That was a time I was working two jobs and putting in 16-20 hour days. In fact I did not watch tv at all. We got 2 channels and there was nothing on.

Wow...I've seen custom bands like that before...but not in gold!!  Mainly seen them at Gun Shows...ones made of silver with big hunks of coral and turquoise.

Man!  You guys missed a pretty good show back in the day.  It's fun to see the old cast members again on the new Dallas, but I'm not sure that the young cast members have the presence to carry the torch on after it's been passed.  The watch looked cool on J.R.'s wrist on the show.  Much better than in the newspaper article.
